Balance and Wellness Groups
Working in a group environment provides members with numerous benefits. Groups offer participants an opportunity to work on issues they have in common and to gain an increased sense of support and validation. Sharing and exploring our own process and human-ness with others can bring about a deeper understanding of ourselves, an enhanced emotional connection and a greater appreciation of our uniqueness and individuality. Studies have shown that the power of group work is both powerful and highly effective.
While groups can often focus on relieving its members of emotional pain and suffering from traumatic life experiences and illnesses, groups can also be focused on enhancing and enriching one's life, focusing more keenly on fulfillment, joy and self nurturance. I have over 20 years of providing group therapy, wellness and support groups. There can be many different types of groups created that may be closed or open to new members, short term or ongoing, art as therapy or art psychotherapy, along with any range of goals in mind. Groups will be offered through themes but can also be requested or arranged by groups of 3 or more participants with a common interest.
